Operations Technician, you'll apply your electrical or mechanical expertise to
ensure the seamless operation of global cloud systems, directly contributing to
the stability of one of the world's largest information system infrastructures.
We are looking for a Data Center Engineering Operations Technician to join our
expanding Infrastructure Operations team. Data Center Engineering Operations
Technician is a hands-on electrical and mechanical equipment troubleshooting and
operation responder. If you like to use apply your electrical and mechanical
skills to solve problems, we’d like to meet you. Your work will help to maintain
one of the world's largest information system infrastructures.
*Please note that this role involves working on a shift rotation that includes
working early mornings, nights and weekends. Our sites are often in areas
without public transportation links and would require access to your own
transportation to the work location.
Key job responsibilities
Maintain Safety Standards: Follow and uphold the highest safety protocols,
actively encourage a strong safety culture, and collaborate with other teams to
identify and remediate safety risks and issues.
Perform Operational Monitoring: Conduct routine rounds and take daily
operational readings of electrical and mechanical equipment, including UPS
systems, switchgear, circuit breakers, automatic transfer switches, diesel
generators, chillers, HVAC systems, exhaust fans, variable frequency drives, and
transformers.
Troubleshoot Equipment Issues: Diagnose and resolve operational events within
established service level agreements, applying your electrical and mechanical
knowledge to restore systems to optimal performance.
Coordinate Maintenance Activities: Supervise contractors performing servicing
and preventive maintenance on critical facility equipment, ensuring work meets
standards and timelines.
Support Facility Operations: Contribute to the overall reliability and
efficiency of data center operations through consistent attention to equipment
performance and facility needs.
A day in the life
In this role, you'll be the technical guardian of our data center operations,
working hands-on with electrical and mechanical equipment that powers our cloud
infrastructure. Your day involves taking routine operational readings of
critical systems—monitoring temperatures, voltages, and currents across
equipment like UPS systems, generators, chillers, and HVAC units. You'll respond
to operational events, troubleshooting issues within established service level
agreements and collaborating with contractors during preventive maintenance
activities. You'll also participate in safety initiatives, identifying and
helping remediate potential risks while fostering a strong safety culture across
the facility. Your work directly impacts the reliability and performance of our
global infrastructure.

their businesses. Basic Qualifications: - High school or equivalent diploma
- Knowledge of generic mechanical room infrastructure such as chillers, cooler
units, and fan controls
- Knowledge of key electrical competencies and theory
- Experience in English-language communication skills, both written and verbal
Preferred Qualifications: - Speak, write, and read fluently in Spanish
- Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering or a
relevant engineering discipline
- Experience in operations of critical facilities which require in-depth
knowledge in electrical, mechanical, and control systems and Data Center
engineering experience
