About This Role
Amazon Web Services (AWS) is seeking a Senior Data Centre Design Manager to join
its Data Centre Design Engineering team in Dublin, Ireland.
Our team is responsible for achieving a world class uptime for our customers and
drive to develop a fleet of buildings that emphasize security, safety,
efficiency, and cost effectiveness, while finding new ways to meet AWS’s growing
As a Senior DC Design Manager at AWS, you will lead designs for AWS Data Centres
in our Europe, Middle East & Africa (EMEA) geography and impact other projects
around the world. As a Senior DC Design Manager, you will be part of a highly
creative and efficient design team comprised of Architects, Engineers, and
Designers tasked with solving problems and challenging the status quo.
AWS Infrastructure Services owns the design, planning, delivery, and operation
of all AWS global infrastructure. In other words, we’re the people who keep the
cloud running. We support all AWS data centers and all of the servers, storage,
networking, power, and cooling equipment that ensure our customers have
continual access to the innovation they rely on. We work on the most challenging
problems, with thousands of variables impacting the supply chain — and we’re
looking for talented people who want to help.
You’ll join a diverse team of software, hardware, and network engineers, supply
chain specialists, security experts, operations managers, and other vital roles.
You’ll collaborate with people across AWS to help us deliver the highest
standards for safety and security while providing seemingly infinite capacity at
the lowest possible cost for our customers. And you’ll experience an inclusive

• Communicate conceptual designs and create/maintain project documentation
before, during, and after construction;
• Creating and tracking metrics related to cost, quality and duration of design
as well as collecting data from construction and commissioning teams as designs
are implemented. Establishing capital project design budgets and contributing to
complex business cases for existing region and new region deployment.
Collaborating with AWS finance teams to secure funding for projects;
• Working in partnership with AWS Engineering leads to schedule engineering
resources and influence design changes based on internal customer needs;
• Partnering with internal customers to establish project scope, schedule and
deliverables. Create, review, and release design RFPs. Manage our external
design consultants through the design and construction process. Coordinate with
internal and external Mechanical, Electrical, Controls, and Cabling design
• Think outside of the box to find innovative solutions prior to and during the
construction process to reduce costs and schedule without negative impacts on
quality or reliability. Travel for site assessments, internal design meetings,
construction review, and interfacing with design consultants. Anticipated travel
- engage and manage the work of permitting and design consultants
- Complete after-action reviews and identify opportunities for process
As a Senior Design Manager you will be part of a global engineering leadership
team, comprised of highly effective Architects, Structural, Civil, Mechanical,
Electrical, and Control Engineers delivering capacity projects across the
Europe, Middle East & Africa geography.

Basic Qualifications: - Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field
- Knowledge of critical data center mechanical and electrical equipment
- Experience in industrial or commercial engineering in mission critical
facilities including but not limited to: data centers, power generation or oil
and gas facilities Preferred Qualifications: - Professional Engineering or
- Knowledge of building codes and regulations for your region
- Experience in data center design, construction, operations, or facility
- Experience in project management
