Amazon Web Services (AWS) is seeking a Senior Structural Engineer to become part
of a Data Center Engineering team. This engineer will be located in any of the 3
offices listed with intent to support AMER projects as well as some global
projects.
As the Senior Structural Engineer you will be responsible for the structural
infrastructure strategy and continuous product innovation and development to
support our rapidly expanding global data center footprint. AWS Data Centers are
a major component of worldwide cloud-computing infrastructure and are industry
leading examples of critical facilities.

world class uptime for our customers. We justify and communicate the technical
decisions we make to Senior Management and work hard to drive continuous
advancements and improvements with our designs.
As an engineer at Amazon you have the ability to drive change and define/design
the systems our customers rely on.
Our Structural Engineers play a hands on role with our mission critical data
center structural designs and implementation.

Key job responsibilities
- Create, review and release data center Structural Engineering improvements and
designs for the next gen data center design.
- Provide relevant feedback into Basis of Design, prototype design, and template
specifications for structural engineering systems.
- Serve as a technical advisor for AWS DC design projects including; review of
foundation and structural systems, evaluating superstructure design options,
performing seismic studies and assessing structural calculation assumptions.
- Create, review and release architectural/civil/structural design RFPs.
- Manage our external architectural/civil/structural design consultants.
- Coordinate with internal and external MEP/C/A design engineers.
- Lead initiatives aimed at improving cost, quality, schedule, and consistency.
- Manage multiple fast paced projects simultaneously.
- Travel for site assessments, internal design meetings, construction review,
interface with AHJs and design consultants. Anticipated travel not to exceed
25%.
- Collaborate and coordinate with CAD software (AutoCAD, REVIT, BIM 360, etc.)

professional. Basic Qualifications: - 4+ years of industrial or commercial
engineering in mission critical facilities including but not limited to: data
centers, power generation or oil and gas facilities experience
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field
- Experience researching new designs, technologies, and construction methods of
data center equipment and facilities
- 6+ years of design, construction, operations, or facility maintenance
experience
- Design and detailing of structural lateral and gravity systems Preferred
Qualifications: - Professional Engineering or Architectural License
- Knowledge of building codes and regulations for your region
- Experience carrying design concepts through exploration, development, and into
deployment or mass production
- Experience reading, interpreting, and creating construction drawings,
specifications, and submittal documents

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package
will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final
compensation will be determined based on factors including experience,
qualifications, and location. Amazon also offers comprehensive benefits

AD&D insurance and option for Supplemental life plans, EAP, Mental Health
Support, Medical Advice Line, Flexible Spending Accounts, Adoption and Surrogacy
