Technical Program Manager III, Data Center Engineering - AI & Design Technologies

The AWS Data Center Engineering - AI & Design Technologies team is seeking a

Senior Technical Program Manager to drive the end-to-end delivery of AI-powered

design automation programs for AWS's global data center infrastructure. In this

role, you will own complex, cross-functional programs that bring generative AI

capabilities to architects, engineers, construction managers, and facility

operators, transforming how data center design documentation is created,

validated, and delivered at scale.

You will work at the intersection of Building Information Modeling (BIM),

generative AI, and cloud-based platforms, partnering with product managers,

software engineers, applied scientists, and Architecture, Engineering,

Construction, and Ownership (AECO) domain experts to plan, execute, and launch

programs that accelerate facility design workflows. You will translate ambiguous

business and technical requirements into structured execution plans, drive

cross-organizational alignment, and ensure AI-powered features maintain the high

trust bar that engineering professionals demand. The ideal candidate combines

deep technical program management expertise with the ability to navigate

ambiguity, thrives in fast-paced environments, and is passionate about applying

AI to real-world engineering challenges at unprecedented scale.

Key job responsibilities

- Own and deliver ambiguous, large-scale programs spanning multiple

organizations and technology domains — defining mission, objectives, and

measurable success criteria while driving alignment across business and

engineering stakeholders throughout the end-to-end program lifecycle

- Analyze system architectures and engineering organizational structures to

identify dependencies, risks, and opportunities, partnering with engineering

leaders to ensure solutions scale effectively and meet both functional and

non-functional requirements

- Drive clarity and crisp decision-making in highly ambiguous environments —

providing context on business and technology trade-offs, questioning

assumptions, and prioritizing work that delivers the highest customer value,

even when the business strategy, architectural approach, or problem definition

may not yet exist

- Translate complex AECO workflows and customer needs into clear technical

requirements and implementation plans, partnering with product managers to

inform and execute the product and technical roadmap

- Influence and advise VP-level leadership across data center engineering

organization on technical investment decisions, organizational alignment, and

long-term platform strategy — translating technical complexity into actionable

insights that inform resource allocation and strategic direction

- Establish metrics, dashboards, and regular reporting mechanisms to provide

stakeholders and senior leadership clear insight into program health, delivery

timelines, and business impact

- Force-multiply across the TPM community by proactively identifying gaps

between teams, processes, and systems, and establishing frameworks, mechanisms,

and best practices that elevate the effectiveness of multiple teams and

programs, reduce failure modes, and strengthen operational health

A day in the life

You start your morning reviewing program metrics and identifying areas that need

attention. By mid-morning, you are leading a cross-team design review, asking

pointed questions about architectural trade-offs and helping engineers converge

on a path forward. After lunch, you draft a program update narrative for

leadership, distilling weeks of progress into a concise story. Later, you

connect with partner teams to unblock a dependency and refine the delivery

timeline. Throughout, you mentor a fellow program manager and carve out time to

evaluate whether a new generative AI tool could streamline your reporting

workflows. Basic Qualifications: - 5+ years of technical product or program

management experience

- 7+ years of working directly with engineering teams experience

- 3+ years of software development experience

- 5+ years of technical program management working directly with software

engineering teams experience

- Experience managing programs across cross functional teams, building processes

and coordinating release schedules Preferred Qualifications: - 5+ years of

project management disciplines including scope, schedule, budget, quality, along

with risk and critical path management experience

- Experience managing projects across cross functional teams, building

sustainable processes and coordinating release schedules

- Experience defining KPI's/SLA's used to drive multi-million dollar businesses

and reporting to senior leadership

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package

will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final

compensation will be determined based on factors including experience,

qualifications, and location. Amazon also offers comprehensive benefits
