Data Center Electrical Commissioning Engineer

THE ELECTRICAL COMMISSIONING ENGINEER IS RESPONSIBLE FOR EXECUTING ELECTRICAL COMMISSIONING ACTIVITIES ON MISSION-CRITICAL DATA CENTER PROJECTS UNDER THE DIRECTION OF SENIOR ENGINEERS, DISCIPLINE LEADS, AND PROJECT MANAGERS.

This role focuses on safe execution, accurate documentation, and disciplined testing in alignment with the Anchor Mission Critical Playbook.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

- Execute electrical commissioning activities as assigned by Senior Engineers or Leads

- Perform Pre-Functional Checks (PFCs), including L2/L3 readiness inspections

- Execute Functional Performance Testing (FPT) per approved procedures

- Support Integrated Systems Testing (IST), including power failure scenarios

- Coordinate with contractors, OEMs, and controls teams during testing

- Document test results, deficiencies, and corrective actions

- Maintain accurate, timely commissioning documentation

TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES

- Foundational understanding of electrical power distribution systems

- Familiarity with UPS systems, generators, switchgear, and electrical equipment

- Ability to read and interpret electrical one-lines and schematics

- Understanding of basic redundancy and failure concepts

- Willingness to learn commissioning processes and tools

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

Required:

- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience

- 2 –7 years of experience in electrical systems, construction, or commissioning

Preferred:

- Mission-critical or data center experience

- Prior exposure to commissioning or testing activities

CERTIFICATIONS (PREFERRED)

- OSHA 10 or 30-Hour Construction Safety

- Commissioning-related coursework or training

- Complete and defensible commissioning documentation

- Responsiveness to direction and feedback

- Demonstrated technical growth and readiness for increased responsibility

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS

SALARY RANGE

$95,000 – $123,000+

This range reflects nominal experience of 2 –7 years in electrical commissioning or related fields. Compensation above the stated range may be considered for exceptional experience or accelerated development.

EMPLOYMENT STATUS

This position is full-time and exempt. Employment is at-will, subject to applicable state and federal law.
