Description
Job Summary:
ark data centers is seeking a full-time Data Center Specialist at its state of the art data center facility in Duluth, MN. Under general supervision, the Data Center Specialist performs basic day-to-day activities to operate the Data Center by policies and procedures; contact for after hour response to Data Center problems or issues; and provides support to customers, staff, and/or contractors.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
· Acts as the first point of contact for any building issues (climate control, odors, smoke, spills, damage, emergencies, and repairs)
· Provide support to customers, staff, and/or contractors.
· Managing a ticket queue and escalating issues to appropriate team members
· Installs and maintains all cross connects.
· Create documentation and maintain that documentation through the change process.
· Performs immediate cleaning duties necessary to maintain a clean and safe facility.
· Performs other maintenance duties as assigned by the Data Center Manager
· Managed incoming and outgoing shipments.
· This includes the preparation of outgoing packages, return shipments and receipt of deliveries. This may also require managing
large, heavy parcels.
· Read and comprehend technical information relating to the Data Center infrastructure, hardware, software, peripherals, and
telecommunication devices.
· Use monitoring systems to identify problems or issues with the Data Center infrastructure.
· Inspect equipment visually and listen to mechanical problems; report findings as directed.
· Accurately log and report issues and problems following standard procedures
· Troubleshoot problem issues following processes and procedures, as directed.
· Work individually or on group projects, assigned.
· Stays current with Data Center training on processes and procedures as they are created or revised and as directed by the Data
Center Manager
· Ability to support Data Center Audits and Certifications
· On-site presence

Requirements
Education & Experience:
Minimum of one (1) year of job-related experience
Ability to interpret processes, flow charts, building plans and schematics.
Ability to use standard powered and non-powered tools.
Ability to prioritize and manage multi-functional tasks.
Ability to work effectively under pressure, and against strict time constraints.
Interpersonal Skills:
Effectively communicate, orally and in writing
Work as a team member in a cooperative work environment.
Understand and follow oral and written instructions.
Working Conditions:
Work performed primarily indoors with regular exposure to medium voltage equipment and hazards associated with maintaining equipment systems (e.g., mechanical systems, infrastructure building automation systems and controls) Frequent use of hand and power tools.
Frequent bending, kneeling, squatting, and climbing in cramped spaces.
Frequent use of ladders or man lift to twenty feet.
Frequently lift to fifty pounds with or without assistance
