The Opportunity

We are seeking a highly motivated Data Center Service Operations Manager to oversee and lead operations across our portfolio of UK and European Global Data Centres.

This role is critical in ensuring consistent service delivery, driving continuous improvement, and managing day-to-day operations across multiple sites. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading cross-functional meetings, managing action plans, overseeing project timelines, and ensuring deliverables are achieved to the satisfaction of both EOS and our clients.

As the Operations Manager, you will have the opportunity to influence the direction of our data centre services while maintaining responsibility for onsite operations across four locations.

Key Responsibilities

Project Leadership

Lead cross-functional teams in the planning, execution, and successful delivery of data centre and server operations initiatives.

Drive performance against operational metrics, project objectives, and service goals.

Ensure achievement of all client performance indicators and service requirements.

Tactical Planning

Develop and manage comprehensive project plans, including scope, timelines, budgets, resource allocation, and risk management strategies.

Drive execution to ensure efficient delivery and high-quality outcomes.

Stakeholder Management

Build and maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders, external vendors, and subcontractors.

Facilitate effective communication and collaboration throughout the project lifecycle to support successful delivery.

Resource Management

Oversee the allocation of personnel, equipment, and materials across projects and operational activities.

Optimise resource utilisation to improve efficiency and ensure timely delivery.

Quality Assurance

Establish and maintain quality control measures to ensure compliance with project requirements, operational standards, and regulatory obligations.

Drive consistent and successful service delivery across all locations.

Risk Mitigation

Proactively identify operational risks, issues, and dependencies.

Develop mitigation strategies to minimise disruption and ensure all service level agreements (SLAs), metrics, and project deliverables are achieved within scope and schedule.

Reporting and Documentation

Prepare and present regular status reports, project updates, and performance metrics for stakeholders.

Communicate progress, milestones, challenges, and key risks clearly to leadership teams and clients.

Continuous Improvement

Lead post-project reviews and lessons learned sessions.

Identify opportunities for process improvement, operational efficiencies, and service innovation.

Promote best practices that enhance future project and service performance.

Essential Criteria

Experience and Technical Expertise

Proven experience managing global technical teams supporting server deployments and operational environments.

Experience driving process improvements and systems development, including the use of automation to streamline workflows.

Demonstrated experience managing change control processes and conducting maintenance activities within production environments.

Customer Success and Service Management

Strong background in service management and customer relationship management, with a focus on delivering exceptional service experiences.

Experience developing customer success plans, defining key performance indicators (KPIs), and maintaining high levels of customer satisfaction.

Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver results within demanding timelines.

Leadership and Communication Skills

Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to foster collaboration across geographically dispersed teams.

Strong communication skills with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.

Self-motivated, proactive, and capable of independently identifying and resolving challenges.

Operational and Organisational Skills

Strong organisational and time-management skills, including the ability to handle sensitive and confidential information.

Ability to influence stakeholders, negotiate effectively, and make informed decisions in high-pressure environments.

Solid understanding of service management principles and frameworks such as ITIL or equivalent methodologies.

Desirable Criteria

Experience supporting data centre operations and server deployment programmes.

Data-driven mindset with a strong focus on continuous improvement and service optimisation.

Experience analysing operational metrics to identify trends and opportunities for enhanced service performance.
