Vice President, Data Center Sourcing and Costs

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced leader within Fleet’s Supply Chain organization as a Data Center Sourcing and Costs Vice President, working alongside Strategic Partnerships and Development, Equipment Supply Chain, and Energy Supply Chain teams to manage all data center services sourcing categories for Data Center Builds, Substation, and Technology Sourcing to include architects-engineers, contractors, physical security, commissioning, and related technology service categories in addition to managing a cost team to manage all data center build estimates and post-construction agreement contracts including GMP/Lump Sum/Fixed Price negotiations. Once the Vice President, Strategic Partnership and Development executes Framework Agreements to preposition agreements/redlines, this senior leader will work with its cost team to issue project specific RFPs and negotiate project-specific commercial transactions to include scopes of works, amendments, and GMP/Lump Sum/Fixed Priced orders.

How will you make a difference?

Sourcing Network Services, evaluating commercial terms, and negotiating resulting agreements.

Driving Substation Category prequalification, request-for-information/quotation/proposal (collectively "RFx") processes including standardization of forms to enable in-system sourcing.

Developing scopes of work/services for network and DC Services in collaboration with design, engineering, construction, and other technical groups.

Preparing, reviewing, negotiating, and executing contracts with vendors.

Ensuring compliance with all contractual obligations and industry standards, managing contract-related issues, claim(s), and/or disputes.

Driving process improvements within his/her organization to align with broader supply chain systems and process transformations.

Managing a team of contracts managers, cost managers, and technology sourcing experts.

Leading strategic sourcing, category management, and cost management/optimization across a multi‑billion‑dollar spend portfolio, including:

Architects-Engineers

Construction services (e.g., contractors, MEP, commissioning)

Substation construction services (design-bid-build and EPC)

Facilities management services (O&M working alongside Equipment Supply Chain organizations, landscaping, physical security during construction and post-operations handoff)

Specialized infrastructure services

Technology services (lab, hardware/network hardware), SaaS and direct/indirect services)

Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in engineering, business administration, economics, finance, construction management, legal studies including Contract Law, Business Law, and/or Supply Chain.

10+ years in dynamic sourcing leadership, preferably with global or multi‑regional oversight .

7+ years of data center experience or mission critical, fast-paced/large-scale infrastructure or data center projects.

10+ years of commercial/transactional contracts management experience including awarding, drafting, negotiation, execution, and administration. Includes an applied understanding of commercial/contract language, engineering/network practices, risk management, supply chain, or similar contracts-related experience.

Expertise in sourcing through contracting, cost management and optimization, supplier management, and strategic sourcing in construction, data center, and/or critical infrastructure sectors.

Strong financial analysis and analytical capabilities.

Excellent negotiation, communication, and stakeholder management skills.

Technologically adept with procurement systems and tools.

Proven success building, leading and mentoring a team.

Preferred Qualifications

Advanced Degree in business administration, economics, construction management, legal studies, contract/business law, or engineering.

Start-up environment/mentality with a bias for execution.

Strong knowledge of supply chain management tools, data analytics, and advanced reporting.

Knowledge of supply chain sustainability/social responsibility.

Proficiency in contract lifecycle management (CLM) capabilities (development of business requirements through active use).

Detail-oriented with strong organizational, analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.

Travel Requirement: 15% travel (U.S.).

Expected Salary Range: $250,000 - 300,000 Base Salary + Discretionary Bonus.
