About This Role
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
* Bachelor's degree in a technical field or equivalent practical experience.
* 8 years of experience in computing infrastructure, networking, operating
systems, or hardware.
* 2 years of experience managing technical teams, vendor or contract management
and delivery.
* Ability to work non-standard hours, including working weekends, night shifts,
holidays and on shift-based schedules as required.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
* More than 3 years of experience managing a technical team.
* Experience leading and managing projects from initiation to completion and
directing operations management initiatives.
* Experience working with third-party colocation providers.
* Comfort with ambiguity and shifting priorities.

team, you will be responsible for deploying, monitoring, and servicing the
state-of-the-art physical infrastructure behind Google's powerful search, Cloud,
and AI technology. As a Hardware Operations Manager, you will manage a team of
Data Center Technicians. You will oversee the quality installation of server
hardware and components and take charge of complicated
installations/troubleshooting.
In this role, you will manage a team for the 2nd shift.Your team will install,
configure, test, troubleshoot and maintain hardware (like servers and their
components) and server software (like Google's Linux clusters). You will also
take on the configuration of more complex components such as networks, routers,
hubs, bridges, switches and networking protocols. You may lead small project
teams on larger installations and develop project contingency plans. Weekend,
evening or off-hours management support may be required.The AI and

US: $138000 - $200000 (USD) + 15% bonus target + equity + benefits

RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Oversee the computing and networking operations of a data center site(s), and
ensure Service Level Objective (SLOs) are met and team performance is aligned
to those goals.
* Hire, coach, and develop a team of technical staff to meet objectives.
* Take responsibility for the management and implementation of multiple
projects for your team and ensure data center related priorities are
consistent with company objectives.
* Work with others to set and implement short-term and long-term strategy for
the site.
* Identify problems and create solutions for computing and network
architecture.
