About This Role

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

* Associate's degree, trade school certification, or other certified training

in a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.

* 9 years of experience in Electrical, Mechanical/Heating, Ventilation and Air

Conditioning (HVAC), or controls experience in an industrial/commercial

environment.

* 9 years of experience in operations management and facilities management.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

* Experience working in data center environments, including building and

operating infrastructure.

* Experience with initiating and executing initiatives in a global environment.

* Ability to perform operational assessment and risk analysis of third-party

sites.

* Ability to forecast resource requirements in a data-driven way.

* Excellent problem-solving skills.

ABOUT THE JOB:

The Data Center team designs and operates some of the most sophisticated

electrical engineering, mechanical engineering and HVAC systems in the world.

Facilities Technicians at Google data centers operate, monitor and support

physical facilities conditions. Some of these duties will include heating and

cooling of air and water, power supply, generators, UPS systems, electrical

distribution and control and monitoring systems. You regularly help inspect,

maintain and repair various data center systems such as piping and non-critical

electrical or mechanical system components).

As an advocate for best practices, you develop creative approaches to reducing

operational costs while improving overall data center efficiency. You ensure

that environmental and safety standards are consistently met, identifying

problems and making repairs quickly. In emergency situations or abnormal

conditions, you manage data center performance issues and outages to minimize

the recovery time from failures.

As a part of the Third Party Data Center Operations team, you will provide

technical due diligence for site selection, sustains and improves the quality of

vendor operated data centers, and mitigates and resolves conflict for critical

work risk.

In this role, you will focus on reliable operation of the mechanical and

electrical infrastructure of data centers, working with the vendor operator for

success. You will be involved in collocation operations for electrical, cooling,

and IT infrastructure. You will partner with the Google Data Center Engineering

team, Hardware Operations, Network Infrastructure, and third-party data center

vendors and operators with a focus on operability, maintainability, and

reliability. You will represent the operations organization, and ensure

operability, maintainability, and reliability that are critical criteria for

Google assets.

Individual pay is determined by factors including job-related skills,

experience, and relevant education or training.

Netherlands: €114000 - €116000 (EUR) + 15% bonus target + equity + benefits

RESPONSIBILITIES:

* Serve as the primary point of contact for third-party colocation data

centers, ensuring continuous facility availability and aligning with

providers to manage service delivery.

* Lead the response to major power or cooling redundancy failures, focusing

heavily on incident management, risk management, and Environment, Health, and

Safety (EHS) compliance to prevent critical outages.

* Coordinate capacity expansion works across multiple site locations,

maintaining a strict focus on safety and ensuring zero unplanned disruptions

to live operations.

* Validate the technical information, risk registers, and maintenance

procedures provided by third-party vendors to enforce strict operational

governance, without directly managing the third-party technicians.

* Conduct regular on-site operational assessments and partner with internal

engineering teams to ensure that operability, maintainability, and

reliability remain the most critical criteria for all infrastructure assets.
