The Data Center Facilities Specialist is responsible for the day-to-day operations of their primary data center. Other areas of responsibilities include, monitoring/evaluating all Data Center system efficiencies and developing Standard Operating Procedures (SOP). When opportunities for system improvement arise or systems change occur new Methods of Procedure (MOP) will be drafted by the Data Center Operations Specialist and submitted for approval to the Data Center Operations Team Lead.
The Data Center Facilities Specialist will encourage proper data center security practices while adhering to all company procedures and acceptable use policies. More importantly, the Data Center Operations Specialist will maintain the highest standards for change management policies and procedures ensuring all client service level agreements are met.
Provide guidance and mentoring to all team members while encouraging personal growth is paramount in the Data Center Facilities Specialist skill set. Having the ability to interact with customers, coworkers, and the entire Lunavi executive team is important to ensure good upstream and downstream communication. Additionally, the Data Center Operations Specialist must foster solid vendor and supporting trade relationships to ensure cooperative, timely professional services are provided to the data centers.
Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:
Provide leadership, coaching and training, pertaining to the data center’s operation, to other team members.
Responsible for the daily activities and priorities for the data center.
Ensure support tickets are effectively resolved.
Review support ticket matrixes to insure they are within standard intervals and SLA’s.
Insure Datacenter infrastructure reliability.
Work effectively with other workgroups.
Uphold Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) and documentation.
Collaborate on creating Standard Operating Procedures (SOP).
Insure employees have an understanding on how to operate the data center infrastructure based on our SOP and manufacture specifications.
Manage vendor relationships as required.
Data center project management.
Oversee customer installations meet standards.
Maintain optimal data center security standards.
Ensure quality and repeatable process through optimization, quality assurance, reporting, measuring and monitoring.
Recognize and identify potential areas where existing policies and procedures require change, or where new ones need to be developed as they relate to our data centers
Manages resources in accordance with the data center and infrastructure budgets.
Assure vender installations and within standards.
Assure data center infrastructure, security and access are within industry standards.
Assist with data center design.
Ensure systems are within industry standards.
Create documentation to support data center functions.
Requirements
Minimum Knowledge & Skills Required: standard language
Able to maintain a high level of accuracy and professionalism.
Good written and oral communication skills; must be able to clearly and concisely communicate information to non-technical departments and users.
Minimum 5 years data center experience.
Demonstrated knowledge of environmental systems, Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) units, understanding of power and power calculations, data center layout management and philosophy
Able to work with, and manage various vendors.
Background in data center infrastructure
Able to effectively manage multiple projects/tasks of varying complexities while working well under pressure
On call 24x7 to support data center infrastructure
Ability to provide leadership and mentorship to team members.
Strong organizational and analytical skills.
Ability to communicate effectively with cross-functional teams and groups.
Ability to work independently with excellent organizational, analytical and problem-solving skills.
Proficient in Windows Suite (Visio, Excel, Word).
Ability to understand electrical, architectural and mechanical drawings
Ability to work under pressure while trouble shooting supporting data center infrastructure.
Ability to operate positively as a team member in a fast-paced environment.

Physical Requirements:
Ability to lift and move equipment weighing up to 50 lbs.
Capability to work in a data center environment, which may involve standing, walking, and bending for extended periods.
Availability for on-call support and occasional off-hours work, as needed.
