About the role: magniX is building a small, cross-functional team to develop a new 800V battery-based power supply and backup system for datacenter compute racks, drawing on the company's deep bench of electric propulsion battery and power electronics expertise. The Systems Engineer, Datacenter Power Systems owns requirements management, interface control, and program leadership for the 800V battery-based power supply program, in addition to serving as the primary liaison to datacenter customers and certification bodies. They ensure the engineering disciplines on the team are working to a coherent set of requirements and that the resulting system meets datacenter customer and regulatory expectations.
Primary Responsibilities:
* Own top-level system requirements and flow-down to the battery, power electronics, controls, and mechanical/thermal workstreams.
* Manage interface control between disciplines and maintain the overall system architecture and safety case.
* Serve as the primary technical point of contact with datacenter operator customers, including requirements gathering and proposal support.
* Track compliance planning against relevant standards (UL 9540/9540A, IEEE 1547, NFPA 855) in coordination with engineering leads.
* Manage program schedule, risk, and cross-functional planning in support of business development timelines.
Required Qualifications:
* Bachelors’ in Electrical, Mechanical, Systems Engineering or related field.
* 7+ years in systems engineering or technical program management for power or energy systems.
* Experience managing requirements and interfaces across multi-disciplinary hardware programs.
* Comfort operating in a customer-facing capacity, including requirements discovery and proposal development.
Preferred Qualifications:
* Experience with datacenter operator requirements, redundancy/N+1 expectations, or utility interconnection processes.
* Background in aerospace or energy storage certification processes (DO-311, UL 9540A, or similar).
* Prior program leadership experience taking a system from concept through certification.
Location: Applicants must be willing and able to commute to magniX's location in Everett, Washington.
