About This Role
Overview
The Data Center Fiber Technician II is responsible for independently installing, terminating, splicing, testing, troubleshooting, and documenting fiber optic infrastructure within mission-critical data center environments. This technician serves as a technical resource on project sites, ensuring all work meets BICSI standards, customer specifications, and quality expectations.
Responsibilities
Perform fusion splicing of single-mode and multimode fiber optic cables.
Install, terminate, and certify fiber optic backbone and horizontal cabling systems.
Perform OTDR, insertion loss, optical power meter, and fiber certification testing.
Troubleshoot fiber optic systems and resolve connectivity issues.
Read and interpret construction drawings, rack elevations, splice diagrams, and network documentation.
