About This Role
SUMMARY
Mortenson is currently seeking a General Foreman that will be responsible for
planning, organizing, and directing foreman and craft team members based on the
project schedule and state and federal requirements.
RESPONSIBILITIES
* Read blueprints and schematic drawings to determine work procedures
* Supervise and coordinate activities of foremen and their assigned craft
workers
* Interpret specifications, blueprints, and job orders
* Interpret company policies to workers and enforce safety regulations
* Establish and adjust work sequences to meet construction schedule, using
knowledge of capacities of equipment and assigned personnel
* Study and analyze schedules and estimate worker-hour requirements for
completion of job
* Analyze and resolve work problems
* Maintain time records
* Make cost estimates for contracts
* Use logical step-by-step procedures in work
* Plan work and solve problems
* Make decisions based on measurable information
* Operate machinery as needed
* Lead team members by example, offer effective coaching and feedback, and
effectively manage performance
* Effectively work and build relationships with those of diverse backgrounds
and organizational levels
* All other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS
* High school diploma or GED
* Minimum of five (5) years related experience
* Strong teamwork orientation, positive attitude, professional customer service
skills, detail orientation, ability to work according to detailed, standard
instructions and well-defined, established procedures
* Ability to determine work method from alternatives, work under broad
assignments, active listening skills, and effective communication including
openness to diverse input and feedback
* Repetitive hand, arm, leg movements
* *Lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling: up to 50 lbs.
