Data Center Technician
Location: Varies - this team will travel to different sites across the country. Memphis is the preferred location as a lot of work will be performed there, however this person MUST be comfortable traveling to various sites across the country at different times.

Salary: 70-100K (depends on experience - Team Leads will be on the higher end)
Job Summary:
The Data Center Technician is responsible for the physical installation and positioning of data center infrastructure, including server racks, cabinets, and related hardware. This role supports large-scale deployment projects by safely moving, assembling, securing, and preparing equipment for integration within data center environments.
Technicians work as part of a team to ensure racks are properly placed, anchored, and ready for server/network installation. This is a hands-on, physically demanding role requiring attention to safety, precision, and teamwork.
Key Responsibilities:
Transport, position, and install server racks and cabinets within data centers
Drill into concrete floors and secure racks using anchors and bolts per specifications
Assist with layout alignment based on floor plans and deployment schematics
Operate material handling equipment (e.g., pallet jacks, lifts) as needed
Perform basic cabling tasks, including routing and dressing cables
Ensure all installations meet safety standards and data center requirements
Maintain a clean and organized work environment on-site
Follow detailed instructions from team leads and project managers
Support inventory handling, staging, and equipment preparation
Adhere to all OSHA and site-specific safety protocols
Basic Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent
Experience in construction, warehousing, data center work, or similar hands-on environments preferred
Ability to lift 50+ lbs and perform physically demanding tasks throughout the day
Comfortable using power tools (drills, anchors, etc.)
Ability to work in a team-oriented environment
Willingness to travel
Preferred Qualifications
Prior data center deployment or rack installation experience
Experience with server rack assembly and layout alignment
Basic understanding of structured cabling
Certification or experience operating an electric pallet jack (not required for all roles)
Familiarity with safety procedures in industrial or technical environments
Team Lead Responsibilities (for Lead-Level Candidates)
Oversee small teams during rack installation projects
Coordinate daily tasks and ensure work is completed according to schedule
Interpret floor plans, rack elevation diagrams, and deployment instructions
Ensure proper rack placement, anchoring, and alignment
Act as the primary point of contact between field teams and project managers
Enforce safety standards and best practices on-site
Provide guidance and training to junior technicians
Team Lead Qualifications
Prior experience leading teams in data center, construction, or deployment environments
Strong understanding of rack installation processes and best practices
Ability to read and interpret technical diagrams and layouts
Proven ability to manage timelines and coordinate team activities
Work Environment
Data center environments, construction-like settings, and warehouse spaces
Frequent standing, bending, lifting, and use of tools
May involve working in hot/cold aisles and confined spaces
PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) required as applicable
Additional Notes
Some roles require certification to operate electric pallet jacks or similar equipment
Opportunities for advancement into lead or specialized deployment roles
Training may be provided for candidates with strong mechanical aptitude
