About This Role

Sourceability® is a global digital distributor of electronic components transforming how modern businesses bring products to market. With innovation, quality and logistics as the backbone of the company, Sourceability’s cutting-edge products and services expedite the procurement process across a wide range of industries, including communications/cellular, consumer electronics, and auto manufacturing.

We are looking for an experienced, connected and strategic addition to our team, to handle North American Hyperscale and Cloud growth.

You will play a crucial role in the expansion of our customer, supplier and partner pipeline, and the speed with which clients and prospects engage with our sales team. You will focus on developing and expanding our pipeline and brand name across USA, Canada and Mexico, and will drive engagement with key targets to increase revenue and profit.

You will own the messaging and delivery to sell Sourceability in this market, and will be responsible for generating a significantly expanded revenue stream in partnership with SVP Partnerships. You will be a senior influence in our organization and will be expected to conduct your business and yourself in an exemplary manner, providing inspiration and aspirational capabilities to the wider team. Aligned with our newly formed memory group, your ability to mould our forward direction will be critical in our success.

As a Business Development Manager, you'll be comfortable working in a focused business area and developing key strategic approaches in partnership with various internal stakeholders. Travel across the Americas will be a significant part of this role, ranging from 30% to 50% depending on your assessed requirements and customer/supply contact needs, and you will be an experienced national and international traveler. Your experience will allow you to take a balanced, mature approach to collaborate with customers for long term partnership based on trust and mutual benefit. You'll be competitive but will recognize the value and function of the wider team. You'll enjoy coaching those around you and most importantly you'll enjoy winning.

Our goal is to have a sophisticated team equipped with expert technical skills in addition to keen business acumen. Each member of our team adds unique value to the business and the customer. Sourceability is committed to a culture where we attract the best talent in the industry.

Insight on your impact:

Proven track record of achieving profitable growth that outperforms the market in specific, relevant organisations within the memory and storage market.

Deep knowledge and experience within the specific wider territory and adjacent vertical markets, allowing for strategic insight.

A broad and active network that can be quickly leveraged to drive business and expand the customer base in your territory.

Confidence and ease in communicating with individuals at all organizational levels, including senior leadership (C-suite).

Highly organized, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple responsibilities effectively.

Experience building and maintaining clean, organized CRM pipelines and creating strategic plans for business growth.

Ability to quickly grasp new information and align solutions with customer needs to drive success.

Commitment to work-life balance, with flexibility to manage both professional and personal responsibilities.

Your qualifications, your influence:

To be successful in the role, you must possess the following skills

10+ years of experience in a business development or sales role, with a demonstrated history of driving revenue growth through both new account acquisition and expansion of existing accounts.

Extensive experience in Franchised Distribution, Independent Distribution, Supplier sales in memory and storage consuming industries, or a combination of these fields.

A valid driving license is required for this role due to the need for local business travel.

Possession of a valid passport and the ability to travel internationally as needed.

A strong understanding of testing and quality practices commonly used in the electronic components industry.

Proven experience working remotely and successfully delivering results.

Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.

Strong presentation skills, with the ability to effectively convey information to various audiences.

Comfort and familiarity with using ERP systems to profile customers and understand their business needs.

Experience with sales methodologies such as Miller Heimann, Challenger, or Sandler is a plus.

This role requires travel ranging from 30% to 50% across the Americas, including international trips. Travel will be managed in compliance with local labor regulations, with allowances to ensure a balanced workload.

Preferred skills and technical familiarity:

Adding additional insight, and a growth mindset, will elevate your contribution in this role

Proven ability to build and manage a multi-state or multi-city sales territory, developing strategic coverage plans that maximize market penetration and account growth.

Comfort with and experience of complex customer structures and reporting lines, including supplier relationships and EMS/CEM dynamics.

Ability to influence without authority – the sales team do not report to the Business Development Organisation – and the ability to show internal stakeholder value.
