$160,000-$190,000 based on experience 

Job Summary: 

The Director of Construction, Data Center Solutions leads the planning,

execution, and delivery of mission-critical data center construction projects

from preconstruction through substantial completion and turnover. This role is

responsible for overseeing all design partners, subcontractors, and Telamon

self-perform personnel on assigned projects, and is accountable for safety,

scope, schedule, cost, and quality across the portfolio. The position partners

with design, trade, inside-plant, and commissioning teams to deliver facilities

ready for infrastructure fit-out and operational acceptance.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Project Planning and Delivery

* Lead multiple concurrent data center construction projects, from single-site

builds through large-scale campus programs, in accordance with approved

scope, schedule, budget, safety, and quality requirements.

* Develop and maintain project execution plans, master schedules, resource

forecasts, procurement plans, and risk-mitigation strategies.

* Lead project kickoffs, owner-architect-contractor meetings, progress reviews,

and executive status updates; maintain timely and accurate project reporting.

* Identify schedule, scope, cost, resource, and delivery risks; establish

recovery plans, escalate issues appropriately, and drive decisions to

resolution.

Construction and Technical Oversight

* Direct and coordinate construction activities involving sitework and

utilities; foundations and structural systems; building envelope and

architectural finishes; MEP systems; fire protection and life safety; and

roads, parking, and fencing.

* Coordinate with design partners, trade contractors, vendors, authorities

having jurisdiction (AHJs), inside-plant teams, commissioning teams, and

owner representatives to resolve constructability and interface issues.

* Interpret and administer drawings, specifications, scopes of work, schedules,

and technical documentation; manage requests for information, submittals, and

field changes.

* Sequence construction and turnover activities so the facility is ready for

infrastructure fit-out, commissioning, and customer acceptance.

Financial and Commercial Management

* Develop and manage project budgets, forecasts, committed costs, cash flow,

and cost controls; monitor financial performance and project profitability.

* Review and approve pay applications, invoices, purchase requests, and change

orders within delegated authority and in accordance with contract

requirements.

* Monitor subcontractor and design-partner performance and labor productivity;

implement corrective actions and identify cost-saving or efficiency

opportunities without compromising safety, quality, or customer requirements.

* Maintain complete, accurate documentation supporting contractual obligations,

customer billing, changes, claims, and project closeout.

Customer and Stakeholder Management

* Serve as the primary project contact for customers, design teams, trade

partners, vendors, AHJs, and internal stakeholders; align expectations and

communicate decisions, risks, and progress.

* Build trusted customer relationships, resolve concerns proactively, and

support appropriate opportunities for expanded scope or additional services.

* Negotiate and resolve scope, schedule, quality, and subcontractor issues

while protecting contractual, operational, and financial objectives.

Team Leadership, Safety, Quality, and Closeout

* Lead company project personnel and coordinate design-partner and

subcontractor teams; clarify responsibilities, set performance expectations,

and drive accountability for safe and effective execution.

* Coach and mentor project managers, project engineers, site leaders, and other

assigned personnel; support capability development and continuous

improvement.

* Enforce company safety policies, customer requirements, and applicable

regulations; support pre-task planning, audits, incident investigations, and

corrective actions.

* Maintain project quality-control processes and oversee inspections,

punch-list completion, permitting closeout, substantial completion, turnover

documentation, and handoff to inside-plant and commissioning teams.

Managerial Responsibility

* This role directly supervises Telamon-employed project personnel and provides

day-to-day direction and contractual oversight of design partners,

subcontractor superintendents, and trade partners across all self-perform and

subcontracted scope. Personnel employed by design firms or subcontractors

remain employees of their respective employers and are not direct reports of

Telamon.

Travel/Shift Requirements

* Requires up to 50–75% travel, including overnight travel by automobile and

commercial aircraft, based on project assignments.

* Requires regular work in offices, customer facilities, and active

construction sites, with exposure to noise, dust, temperature variation,

heavy equipment, and other customary construction conditions.

* Requires flexibility to work evenings, weekends, off shifts, or extended

hours as needed to support customer schedules, milestones, and urgent project

conditions.

Physical Demands

* The employee must be able to access and move safely through active

construction sites.

* Must frequently stand, walk, and use a computer or mobile device.

* Occasionally climb stairs or ladders, bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, reach, and

lift, carry, push, or pull up to 25 pounds.

* The role requires the ability to inspect work, read plans and project

documentation, communicate effectively, travel, and wear required personal

protective equipment.

Skills and Abilities Required

* Advanced knowledge of mission-critical construction methods, sequencing, site

development, structural systems, building envelope, and MEP and

fire/life-safety systems.

* Proficiency in critical-path scheduling, resource planning, project controls,

risk management, and coordination of construction, inside-plant, and

commissioning interfaces.

* Strong financial and commercial acumen, including budgeting, forecasting,

cost-to-complete analysis, labor productivity, contracts, pay applications,

and change management.

* Ability to interpret construction drawings, specifications, scopes of work,

schedules, contracts, and technical documentation across relevant CSI

divisions.

* Knowledge of applicable building codes, permitting, inspection, quality,

turnover, and commissioning requirements for mission-critical facilities.

* Executive-level written, verbal, presentation, facilitation, negotiation, and

conflict-resolution skills.

* Ability to build customer trust, manage expectations, and influence

cross-functional stakeholders without relying on direct authority.

* Sound judgment and structured problem-solving in fast-paced, high-pressure

environments with competing safety, quality, schedule, customer, and

financial priorities.

* Strong organization, attention to detail, ownership, and follow-through, with

the ability to manage multiple concurrent priorities and maintain accurate

documentation.

* Ability to lead, coach, and hold project teams, design partners, and trade

partners accountable while fostering collaboration and continuous

improvement.

* Proficiency with standard project-management, scheduling,

construction-management, reporting, and productivity tools.

Education and Experience Required

* High school diploma or equivalent; an equivalent combination of education,

technical training, certifications, and relevant experience will be

considered.

* 10 or more years of progressively responsible project-management experience

in data center mission-critical construction, including direct oversight of

general-contractor scope.

* Demonstrated experience delivering construction projects valued at $10

million or more.

* Experience leading subcontractors, design partners, and cross-functional

project teams, and managing project financials, contracts, schedule, quality,

and customer communication.

Education and Experience Preferred

* Bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, architecture, or a

related field.

* Experience delivering hyperscale or colocation data center projects.

* PMP, CCM, LEED AP, OSHA 30, or another relevant industry credential.

* Experience with Primavera P6, Procore, Microsoft Project, or comparable

platforms.

* Experience coordinating commissioning, turnover, or inside-plant fit-out in

live operational environments with formal change-control requirements.
