The Supervisor – Data Center Solutions Architecture will lead and support a team
of technical professionals focused on data center physical infrastructure
solutions. This role combines hands-on technical expertise with supervisory
responsibility, including workload management, mentoring, technical escalation,
customer engagement, and oversight of deliverables such as BOMs, designs, and
specifications. The position partners closely with sales, vendor partners,
business leaders, and global support teams to position standards-based data
center solutions and ensure customers receive accurate, timely, and value-driven
technical support.
Responsibilities:
* Lead, mentor, and develop a team of Technology Support and Solutions
Architecture professionals focused on data center and related infrastructure
solutions.
* Monitor day-to-day activity, prioritize requests, and ensure workload is
balanced across the team to meet customer timelines, business priorities, and
published Service-Level Agreements.
* Establish WESCO’s credibility with end-user customers by serving as a
technical liaison throughout the sales cycle and positioning standards-based
technology solutions aligned to customer needs.
* Provide technical oversight and support for customer deliverables, including
bills of material, infrastructure designs, written specifications, and
solution documentation using tools such as Visio, AutoCAD, Revit, or similar
platforms.
* Review project opportunities and determine the technical resources, level of
effort, and support needed to deliver complete and timely customer solutions.
* Partner with sales teams, business leaders, key suppliers, and vendor
partners to develop effective data center infrastructure solutions that meet
current customer requirements and support future needs.
* Serve as an escalation point for complex, multi-discipline, or global
opportunities, ensuring comprehensive technical solutions are provided in
partnership with Technology Support Services leadership and Global Solutions
teams.
* Work closely with Specialist, Senior Specialist, Solution Architect, Global
Technical Resource, and Solutions Support teams to scale execution, improve
turnaround time, and maintain quality of technical deliverables.
* Support the positioning of WESCO’s broader value proposition, including
Supply Chain, Global Solutions, vendor technologies, and technical services
capabilities.
* Partner with Learning & Development, Category Management, business leaders,
and key vendors to ensure team knowledge remains current on data center
technologies, standards, tools, and solution trends.
* Participate in and support advanced technical training, including serving as
both a trainer and participant in global training programs.
* Deliver technical presentations, customer education, hands-on training,
seminars, and support for WESCO innovation or lab center visits as needed.
* Maintain awareness of relevant industry standards, certifications, and
emerging technologies related to data center physical infrastructure and
Layer 1 network design.
Qualifications:
* Associate degree, college diploma, or commensurate technical experience
required.
* Bachelor’s degree in a technical, engineering, information technology, or
related discipline preferred.
* 10+ years of experience in a technical role supporting design,
implementation, commissioning, or technical sales support within data center,
network infrastructure, structured cabling, or related environments.
* Prior leadership, supervisory, mentoring, or team lead experience preferred.
* Strong knowledge of physical layer infrastructure design, including copper
and fiber cabling, routing, patching, pathways, spaces, cabinets, racks, and
structured cabling standards.
* General understanding of data center environments, including cabinets, power
infrastructure, PDUs, UPS systems, cooling considerations, and active network
components such as switches, storage, and compute equipment.
* Experience creating or reviewing technical deliverables such as BOMs,
drawings, specifications, and infrastructure designs.
* Experience with Microsoft Visio required; familiarity with AutoCAD, Revit,
Bluebeam Revu, or similar design/documentation tools preferred.
* Industry certifications such as BICSI RCDD, DCDC, or equivalent are preferred
but not required.
* Strong customer-centric mindset with the ability to communicate technical
information clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
* Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to prioritize work, make
decisions within area of responsibility, coach team members, and support
cross-functional collaboration.
* Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools including Outlook, Word, Excel, and
PowerPoint.
* Ability to travel approximately 10%–25%.

This amount is what we reasonably believe we will pay for the position; however,
offer amounts may vary based on factors such as geographic location, relevant
education, experience, qualifications, skills, shift, or any collective
bargaining agreements.
For eligible positions, compensation may include participation in a bonus or
sales incentive plan, subject to the terms and conditions of the applicable plan
documents. For certain sales roles, Wesco also offers a commission structure
that provides additional compensation based on sales results, as defined by the
applicable commission plan.
