ABOUT THE JOB:
A problem isn’t truly solved until it’s solved for all. That’s why Googlers
build products that help create opportunities for everyone, whether down the
street or across the globe. As a Program Manager at Google, you’ll lead complex,
multi-disciplinary projects from start to finish — working with stakeholders to
plan requirements, manage project schedules, identify risks, and communicate
clearly with cross-functional partners across the company. Your projects will
often span offices, time zones, and hemispheres. It's your job to coordinate the
players and keep them up to date on progress and deadlines.
The DC-NICon team's mission is to collaboratively improve network infrastructure
design requirements, construction documents, schedules, and execution outcomes
while reducing design and construction costs for Google's data centers.
In this role, you will lead large-scale transformations within the Data Center
Network Infrastructure Construction (DC-NICon) organization. You will focus on
accelerating cluster capacity delivery through a strategic "burst labor" model,
involving the rapid mobilization of resources to meet highly accelerated
deployment objectives.
You will be responsible for the end-to-end execution of complex, cross-cutting
programs that enable the rapid scaling of Google's Machine Learning and compute
capacity. You will lead the development and implementation of the burst labor
strategy, leveraging a flexible workforce that can scale up to 24/7 operations
to match project velocity. Your role will involve solving challenging
construction and deployment problems while establishing trust among a set of
global stakeholders.
Behind everything our users see online is the architecture built by the
Technical Infrastructure team to keep it running. From developing and
maintaining our data centers to building the next generation of Google
platforms, we make Google's product portfolio possible. We're proud to be our
engineers' engineers and love voiding warranties by taking things apart so we
can rebuild them. We keep our networks up and running, ensuring our users have
the best and fastest experience possible.
Individual pay is determined by factors including job-related skills,
experience, and relevant education or training.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Lead the planning and implementation of the burst labor program, setting
clear goals to achieve highly accelerated physical infrastructure deployment
goals.
* Collaborate with technical program managers to develop relationships with
external contractors and internal partners, maximizing fit-out velocity.
* Manage resource-loaded schedules for ML sites, proactively resolving
execution risks (e.g., trade-stacking, parts shortages) to avoid idle time
and adhere to Service Level Objectives (SLOs).
* Drive reporting automation and process refinements to improve speed and
quality, eliminating manual intervention where possible.
* Serve as the owner of program status, providing visibility on progress,
risks, and ROI to cross-functional partners and leadership.
